Thursday Night I went to the Kings vs. Canucks game, thanks to lil' Erin. Suite C-3 was poppin off. Soo fun, free food & free drinks! Canucks killed the Kings

Friday Alkaline Trio did an in studio performance at my work which was pretty cool. They only did a few songs, including Love Love, Kiss Kiss and they covered Halloween by the Misfits.

After work I went to the Ducks vs. Canucks game @ Honda Center. The game went into a scoreless overtime, then into a shoot out which resulted in 13 players from each bench shooting, LOL. The game went so long! Canucks won 7-6

After that I picked up zombie Janelle from work and we went to Gridlock @ The Queen Mary because I got tickets from work. We had VIP which meant free drinks all night, which we took full advantage of. Then towards the end of the night DMX performed! He performed X Gon Give it 2 Ya. Ruff Ryders' Anthem, and of course Party Up.

Please tell me why I forgot my camera?

Saturday night was REALLY RITHY's B-Day celebration and Air Conditioned in Venice Beach, drugged out girls are funny. The music was so great. On the way there we saw cars playing real life bumper cars on the freeway, that was scary!

I was blessed to get to attend the Jay-Z concert at the grand reopening of the Hollywood Palladium on Oct. 15th. It took me way too long to post about this concert for some reason. I was given tickets through work, which I didn't find out about until just before the concert that night, but OH WELL IT'S JAY-Z. The worst part about the concert was that my phone was dead and I forgot to get my camera!

Frank Sinatra gave the first performance at the Palladium back in 1942 Jay-Z said, "I like to think I’m the Sinatra of today. If he was ‘Old Blue Eyes,’ I’m ‘Old Brown Eyes.."

First, a bit about the Palladium. I really liked this venue, the wooden floors were left scuffed which gave it an old feel. There is a huge chandelier that hangs above the open floor, and the VIP section is clearly visible to the general public. I saw Tyrese, Jordan Farmar, WILL.I.AM., and of course some of my co-workers up in the VIP.

DJ AM was spinning during JAY-Z's performance and he was backed by The Roc Boys 12 piece band. It was pretty awesome being at a show with no opening performers, it was only Jay-Z with special appearances by Memphis Bleek (obvi), and my husband TI.

He performed, just about every song you could hope for from a performance, and of course all the "club bangers."

I just spent 10 minutes trying to recall EVERY song performed, then I found this set list from The OC Register and it's pretty accurate:

It's still hard for me to believe this tragedy happened. Che was my friend since I started college back in 2003. He was the only person who called me everyday after all three of my knee surgeries, just to see how I was doing and what was crackin. Along with getting me out of a couple parking tickets, and getting me into some shitty ass music, he was a great friend. He always managed to put a smile on my face weather I was hopped up on Vicodin or perfectly healthy. I am so grateful to have had a friend like him in my life.

Although Travis Barker and DJ AM were able to escape the horrendous plane crash alive, their close friend’s were not as fortunate. In memory of Chris Baker and Charles Still, the Famous Stars & Straps family will release a special benefit shirt on October 13th, with 100% of the proceeds going back to their respective memorial funds. Wednesday, September 3 at House of Blues on Sunset was the scene for an epic concert with an unexplainable police turn out. Three 6 Mafia performed such hits as, Tear Da Club Up, I'd Rather, and Stay Fly.

Kendra from The Girls Next Door was present and accounted for, Mafia gave her shout outs through out the show and even had her perform a song on stage with them.

Of course girls were invited to dance on stage like their daddy's never gave them enough attention. One girl split the ass of her pants right open so her ass was exposed another was on the show The Real House Wives of Orange County as Lauri's husband's daughter, McKenzie, and she flashed her ass to the whole audience a bunch of times. It was very disgusting, but funny when a girl fell of of the stage.

A few fights broke out during the Three 6 Mafia's performance, but nothing major...or at least I didn't think so until I exited the venue.

After the show SWAT team, riot police, ghetto birds, 20 or more police cars, and a few ambulances were causing quit a commotion and Sunset was completely blocked off. We had to walk about seven blocks out of the way to our car because every street was blocked with police tape, and officers. All of this force was called because somebody broke their leg, and only two arrests were made. This was a huge waste of tax dollars. Here's a video of the craziness.

Went to see DP at HOB, Hollywood on the 27th. I got pretty twisted, so my recollection of the show is not on point. Thanks to my girl Jennifer for hooking it up with free tickets. My friends said it was really good...so I believe them. The Alchemist performed also, good shit. Getting the ride towed from where we parked was pretty shitty. I don't really remember all that though. Good Times.

Saw Lil Wayne last night at HOB in Hollywood after I got off my internship. My mind was officially blown. He performed a song with Chris Brown (my husband), and I damn near lost my mind. Also in attendance was Lil Mama, Kendra from The Girls Next Door, Ben Baller, Ryan Schekler (lil homo), and many more. He closed the show by lip syncing Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You from the Bodyguard soudtrack, and putting on a satin robe that read GREATEST RAPPER ALIVE across the back.

Tyga opened for Weezy, and performed Coconut Juice, I luh that song. fuck the haters.

I went to the opening night gala of the film festival on Thursday right after work. I had a good time and saw Blake (Mail Order Comedy and National Lampoon) and Tom from some of my drama classes at Orange Coast College back in day. I talked to some weirdos and saw Quin from the Real Housewives of Orange County, she's good looking for an older broad.

Monday night was the Australian Spotlight (check out my blurb in an OC Register blog) and the Asian Spotlight events. I had to fold about 300 trifolds by hand before I got to Fashion Island, and it sucked. Anyway, Martin + Osa was nice. Janelle and Kristin came out to my party. I worked basically my whole event, then went over to Equinox for the Asian spotlight post party. That was a great venue, plus people jumped in the pool at the end of the night...It had to happen. The dj was playing some jams that don't annoy me, so it was fun.

Tuesday I went straight to the film festival after working a day shift and watched The Vanishing Point, a French film. I was not impressed, but then again my opinion isn't really important. The after party for the Swedish event that night was at Design Within Reach and the French party was at French 75. I got a chance to talk to a fellow SJB Alum at both of the parties, she assisted in filming one of the shorts in the festival.

Wednesday night I saw an Irish film called Garage, what a bummer that movie was. I wanted to walk into traffic after watching it. There were some funny moments in the movie, but I don't think it was supposed to be as funny as it was. The sad outweighed the funny in this one. It was also semi-boring and I was fully tired from the past few days. I went to Muldoon's Irish Pub after, but I was too tired to be very social.

Tonight is closing night, but I have work at 3:45, if I get out of work early enough, I might get to go to the party! I doubt that will happen though.

Newport Beach Film Festival

Tomorrow night is the opening gala for the film festival which runs from April 24- May 1, 2008.

My event, the Australian Spotlight is on Monday night, I'm excited/nervous/scared. It's the U.S. premiere of Night by award winning director Lawrence Johnston. The post event party is at Martin + Osa with food and drinks provided. The location for the post party is a really interesting retail space, the interior is all wooden and it smells really good. I'm also looking forward to Absolut RUM...yeah it's new. thnx absolut!

I'm going to try to get off of work in time to volunteer for the after party tomorrow night, I hope it all works out! Otherwise I will be there on Monday, Tuesday, and possibly Saturday.

Friday night, we somehow ended up at Sutra in Costa Mesa. That was not our original plan, but things happened. The place was all out homo. There was AFFLICTION GEAR everywhere featuring gold foil on black, as well as Ed Hardy. However, the bartender gave us an extra drank...that sorta helped. Hit up San Diego and Dana Point this weekend. Hennessey's in DP delivered the LOLZ on Friday. Unfortunately, there was absolutely NO DEF WOULDS there as usual. We still had fun though, and ate some delicious pizza.

Here's a little pre-party:

Then, Saturday morning we woke up and cooked up a hearty breakfast: eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy. Then we headed to San Diego and met up with Michelle and some of her friends.

Our suite at the Holiday Inn, was pretty huge, and housed the five of us easily. We went out in Pacific Beach to Cabo Cantina and all these other bars.

Janelle and I went back the hotel and freshened up/changed clothes in order to go out later on. Then we went back out as everyone else came back to the hotel. We proceeded to get extremely D. The bartender at the place we went to was hooking us up way way too much, fuck him.

Janelle and I tried to walk back to our hotel which was very far away, we got into a huge drunken fight with each other. We peed on the side of some random house. I called a car full of questionable people drug dealers. Then, we FINALLY decided to get a cab...Apparently we got back to the hotel and were screaming at each other. However, we still managed to change into pj's and wash our faces/ brush our teeth.

Next day, I woke up to NO PHONE, and a killer killer hang over. On the way back to DP we had to relieve our stomachs on the side of the freeway....then we watched the Academy Awards...

Anyway, the past few weeks have been pretty crazy. Thanks to LOL LYFE, NBA, and Wyld Ginger.

I face planted in Hollywood on a bridge in a club.
I petted a mustache and dance battled in Downtown LA.
I pre-partied with a bottle of captain and polished it off in 2 nights in 2 drinks.
I went to a basketball game with 10 friends FOR FREE.
I roller skated at Skate Depot and managed to not get shot/beat up/stabbed.
I sent around 100 e-mails for my NBFF event.
I ate at Full House two nights in a row.

I copped a purple leather purse.
I saw Step Up 2 The Streets.
I saw an eclipse.
I' screamed out GUCCI!

it's my birthday

It's been my birthday for 2 and a half hours, and right at midnight my brother calls me, and being the selfish person that, I am I assume it's to wish me a happy birthday. Instead, it was to tell me he was on his way to the ER because he got into some drunken brawl at a party. Somebody broke a bottle on his head, and he got jumped. Last year for my birthday he was in jail, so I guess we're moving forward.....

I'm excited for tomorrow, or later today I should say....yeay!

I was going to post pix of my knee, but it's not a good look for me, so I decided against it. Instead I am posting an awesome picture of my dad.

I had ACL surgery on my left knee on Dec. 21, which is something I'm used to since I've done it before. I tore the ACl and meniscus of my right knee 6 years ago, and had that surgery on Feb. 14, 2001.

My knee is still swollen, and now there are bruises all the way down my inside of my calf from my knee to my ankle. My quad is sore because the doctor used part of my quad to fix my ACL. My foot is swollen. I am not completely miserable, except I'm really not looking forward to spending New Years Eve at home. I hate not being able to do anything, and I hate crutches. On Jan. 3rd I get the samples removed from my knee, and should be walking without crutches very soon after.

Anyway, Showtime & Best of Soultrain are on tonight, so I have something to look forward to.

Sunday Funday/ Rockin Crawfish

Ate in Little Saigon (part of Westminster) last night, for the first time in a very long time. ROCKIN' CRAWFISH! With Scum, Seanz & GF. What interesting spot. It's right next door to the A Dong Market, to me that's funny. There are 4 level of spiciness available on everything you order, even the fries: less than mild, mild, spicy, and extra spicy. Being semi daring I went for the spicy. DAMN, that was fire. I was on the verge of watery eyes.
The ambiance was not what I'd expect from a restaurant in that area. There was a Smashing Pumpkins banner, electric guitars, a John Lennon Gold Record, Bob Marley pictures, empty old school beer cans lining the walls. When we first arrived they were playing club bangers, then mid-way through the meal they changed it to adult alternative aka KROQ classics, like Garbage. I would definitly go back, not just because the beer was $2 a bottle, even New Castle!

I am so not ready for Christmas, or surgery, or my birthday! I can not WAIT for school to get out. I definitely need to live it up before Dec. 21st when I get my new ACL! so i haven't posted in a good minute, which is pretty whack. I went to Dallas for the first time, which was supeeeeer fun besides the fact that I sucked really bad at every game i tried to play. I had a great host and went to see the Cool Kids and M.I.A. at HOB on Nov. 4th was really fun too.

Then I came back to the real world.....of Garden Grove on Monday, but by Thursday I was at it again to celebrate the BFFs birthday.

This vending machine one of my favorite camouflage pieces from Japanese designer Aya Tsukioka. The vending machine dress, and other odd disguises, such as fire hydrant backpacks for children, are supposedly a form of protection from possible attackers. Tsukioka was inspired by the blankets worn by ninjas at night, anything inspired by ninjas always gets full backing by me. These fashion disguises among other odd Japanese inventions (which are intentionally useless), can also be classified as "queer tools" what the Japanese call chindogu. This post is not in the spirit of my usually awesome blog, but i need to vent. If you can't afford to go to a restaurant don't fucking walk out on the bill, so that couple when i see you again i'm going to LOLz at you cause you have NO class, and also because i STILL got paid without your sorry ass trash money.

also sucky, all of california is pretty much in flames, and my brother's summer job in Modjeska Canyon burned down, so now he REALLY has to go to Uganda....cause he won't really have a choice.

Scheduled my knee surgery for Dec. 21, which is very close to Christmas.....the first one i had was on Valentine's Day...the second one was forgettable, so who cares. Hopefully I can walk and drink by my birthday because i definitely want to go to Vegas in Jan.

mid term tomorrow....15 page research paper due Monday, Ethics position paper due Monday, history and philosophy test Monday which i must get an A on because i got an F on the first one.

This weekend is supposed to be awesome, but it's probably going to be un-awesome. I just want to see Janelle and talk about funny things, and about serious things, and about BOYS!! Her boys not mine, because I don't have any.....I'm nosy. I haven't seen her in 2 weeks, it's soo sad I can't wait for Oktoberfest to be done so i can start hanging out with my BFF again. I gave away my Fri. shift too so that's minus $100 or more........UGH!

and i just read this article about how sleep deprivation leads to emotions running amok...i would be much better off in life if i slept more. Without sleep, the emotional centers of our brains dramatically overreact to bad experiences, research now reveals...

and it's going to be 98 degrees tomorrow like the boy band, and the ashes outside will be all over me because my AC is still messed up from my brothers handy work which was actually not handy at all. so i will be sweaty and ashy by the time i get to school....but then i will have a delicious chicken wrap or a meat stack sandwich.....so my emotions will probably be raging from heat stroke and lack of sleep.

so i think i'm going to sleep now....

TI King of the Cell Block

The 27-year-old rapper, Clifford Harris, better known as TI was arrested October 13th in College Park, the day he was scheduled to perform at the second BET awards. He reportedly attempted to purchase three machine guns and two silencers from an undercover agent, acting as an arms dealer.

"According to court documents filed in Atlanta, following his arrest police found three firearms, one of them loaded, in the car driven by TI.

A police search of his Atlanta home uncovered six weapons in a cupboard, five of them loaded.

The musician's bodyguard said that he had bought nine weapons for him, and the rapper had given him cash to buy guns on four occasions."

"T.I. allegedly paid almost a total of $21,000 in cash to his bodyguard to purchase over 25 firearms on his behalf.

The bodyguard, who was acting as a cooperating witness, told agents that he was purchasing the machine guns on T.I.'s behalf because the rapper is a convicted felon.

The man, who had been employed since July 2007, allegedly purchased nine weapons for the rapper as well as one weapon on behalf of another, unnamed individual.

The bodyguard purchased a total of nine weapons for T.I. and 17 for others on behalf of T. I., because of his prior felony conviction, which prevents him from legally owning firearms."

I'm bummed about this one. The Hip-Hop police got TI...I hope this doesn't mean people will stop rockin their hats on top of their heads in the TI-esque manner that I so adore.

Why did he need an entire arsenal of guns, that's the part I don't understand. According to my sources Stack Bundles from Dipset got shot in the face leaving his house, but then again you'd still only need one gun for protection. Besides TI had more then one bodyguard. I also am pretty sure his ex-bodyguard who is probably in the witness protection program now, has a price on his head now.

The real question on my mind is, "Who's taking the blame for this TI or TIP?"

I love Lil' Mama, which is weird because I usually hate girls. I'm a problem and apparently she's a problem too, so we have something in common. She's so damn cute. No Homo. I love the fact she always has HUGE ASS gold earrings on in her videos, which I can't get enough of myself. At first I thought I didn't like her because she isn't a slutty hood-rat how I usually prefer my female MC's ie Lil' Kim and Trina. I seriously think G-Slide is the next dance phenomenon, especially since it's just a twist on the electric slide which everybody already knows. Just wait and see, Soulja Boy Tell Em is RIP, however I hope and pray everybody will continue, "supersoakin hoes!" as often as possible.

I dig the corny Magic School bus style transformation at the beginning of the video. I dig the little girls on the stoop. I love the ice cream man with the Lipgloss, because we all know Lil' Mama's lip gloss is poppin. What else can I say...

I may have fallen off because I like this cutesy bullshit, but any song that has a dance to it, I am pretty much automatically into minus "Lean Like a Cholo."

Two Must See Elephant Movies

After seeing a commercial for the 40th Anniversary Edition of The Jungle Book 2-Disc DVD, I knew it had to be mine. Not only does this movie star Mowgli aka Man Cub who sports a loincloth, but there is also the wise Bagheera who's roar used to scare me, and my favorite character of all King Louie who just wants man's red fire...I haven't watched it yet, but I'm definitely looking forward to the scene with the elephants walking in a line, and the end of the film when Mowgli sees the hot chick getting water with the pot on her head. I admit it's been a few years since I've seen it.
However, my joy upon purchasing one of my favorite Disney films on DVD was partially crushed because I remembered my American Studies 300 class. In that class there was a lot of time spent dissecting Disney and Disneyland and classic Disney movies to reveal the TRUTH behind them. Now, I'd already heard all of it before, but now that I'm a 'grown ass woman', should it matter more to me that there is subversive reaffirmation of racial stereotypes in The Jungle Book? I'm pretty pretty pretty sure I'm not a racist, and for some reason I don't even see the monkeys as "black" and the bananas as representing "illicit drugs" or the temple ruins as representative of "the slum". Anyway, Walt Disney is dead, and I still bought the DVD.

Now to my second DVD purchase, The Protector starring Muay Thai legend Tony Jaa, who previously starred in Ong-Bak: the Thai Warrior. According to reviews, The Protector is "a mix of scant plot, choppy editing, and confusing subtitles and dubbing." That doesn't stop me from loving every minute of the outlandish fight scenes and the ridiculous story line. I forgot to mention, I DID see this movie in the theaters when it came out, and afterwards my face was sore from laughing.
The basic storyline is that Kham (Jaa) has to go to Australia to try to find an elephant that was stolen from his father in Thailand. He has to fight a lot of goons in the Thai Mafia who have the elephant. The mafia runs a restaurant that serves "exotic" dishes, like endangered species. That sentence can't begin to describe the fight scenes though, there's one that lasts entirely too long where he fights legit over 100 people.
I know Tony Jaa's movies are not comedies, but I can't help but laugh. I can't even begin to describe the stunts this guy does, he's an X-Men or something. I really need to buy Ong-Bak: the Muay Thai Warrior too. In that movie Jaa kicks a guy through a truck, like in one door and out the other, he fights people while he's on fire, and in the middle of a fight on flimsy scaffolding his opponent injects himself with steroids.

All in all, I can't wait to re-watch these films that share the common thread of elephants.

I wonder if those steps actually work, but that's besides the point...I don't want anything with metal teeth going anywhere near me. I'm sure gold teeth don't do anything in the breathe department either, yuck.

Another reason I won't be in the front seat of the Hummer is the fact that he has killed a man, and was in jail for attacking a promoter with a pool cue. These are just the facts.
